Is lying morally wrong?

In my opinion lying is morally wrong. I know that some people are telling untruth in trivial matters (like telling teacher that we did homework even if it's not true) but this also isn't right. Everyone is lying ocasionally but we should know that it's not the best way to solve things. Even when we think that truth will hurt someone we love, we shouldn't lie because it will come out sooner or later and it will hurt those we love more than if we said truth in a first place.
I belive that it's better to tell some of the truth than lie.
