Article: "Annual ritual sees hundreds of whales slaughtered in Denmark"

 

Yesterday I've read an article: "Annual ritual sees hundreds of whales slaughtered in Denmark" posted in News 18. The article is about the brutal tradition that is taking place on May 29 in Denmark's Faroe Islands. Every year whole families are gathering in Torshavn bay to watch the slaughter of hundreds of whales. It's a truly macabre sight when the sea is turning red with whale blood. And the worst part of all of it is that they only kill these animals for the ritual and their corpses are thrown away because their meat is distasteful. 

I honestly think it should be forbidden and not only because it's cruel to murder animals just for show. Underwater life is extremely important to our planet so mass killing animals like whales, dolphins, fish, etc. make our situation much harder. We should stop unnecessary animal extermination as fast as possible before it's too late.
